Marach-There was confusion and anger at Yivu Sub County headquarters in Maracha after the LC5 chairman, Lawrence Adiga, was denied platform to preside over the Sub County Independence celebrations.
Adiga who arrived at the venue at 9am spent over two hours waiting without being welcomed by the Sub County officials.
The confusion follows a last minute cancellation notice of the district Independence celebrations by the security team headed by the RDC John Abingua yesterday night.
According to Adiga, all preparations were finalized but he was shocked to be told that due to security reason, the celebrations could not be held today.
However Yivu Sub County which was to host the celebrations went ahead to host their Sub County celebrations where the LC chairman was denied platform on grounds that the LC 3 chairman was the Guest of honor.
Adiga who also met the Maracha East MP John Acidri at the same venue were left in awe after failing to find people of the district for the celebrations at the venue.

Andeku Peter, the LC 3 chairman Yivu Sub County confirmed the incident and said he could not allow the LC5 chairman to attend and preside over the event since it was for the Sub County, where the LC3 chairman is the president.
Adiga said he had to retreat back to his home but condemned the manner in which the district independence celebrations were cancelled without his notice.
According to the letter by the RDC John Abingua, the district should reschedule the celebrations on another day, but failed to disclose further details of the purported security threat as he could not answer his telephone call.
Meanwhile many residents in Maracha district went ahead to celebrate the 55th Independence anniversary at their respective trading centers and Sub County headquarters.
