Arua-Corporate organizations intending to participate in the Kipaji West Nile sports gala have been cautioned to desist from hiring non-employees to participate in the games.
Rashid Apangu, the chairperson Arua district Football Association sounded the warning during a press briefing at the Kipaji offices in Arua town as various corporate organizations prepare for the two day’s event slated for 14th and 15th April at Arua Hill grounds.
“We are ready to offer our support towards the gala but we call upon all participating bodies to ensure full compliance with the rules of the game. Do not hire non-employees,” Rashid said.
He added that complaints tend to arise in such events because some organizations hire players from elsewhere instead of training their own employs.
Perry Ajio, the Director for finance, Kipaji West Nile says the two day’s event is aimed at promoting free health services like counselling and testing for various illnesses and blood donation.
“We have realized that many people do not know where to access health services and so the gala is aimed at letting them know and the corporate bodies will enjoy a good platform to interact and advertise their products and services,” said Perry.
The Public Relations Officer Kipaji West Nile, Nakasujja Faridah, said there is need to create peace and unity among corporate organizations and one way to do this is through such galas.
According to her, organizations like Reproductive Health Uganda, IUIU, Muni University, RICE West Nile, Radio Stations in Arua, over 10 Financial Institutions among others have shown interest to participate in the event.
The annual cultural/sports gala was started two years ago as a drive to bring closer the different communities in the region and to promote and offer a platform for exhibition of the different cultures in the region.
The event will be followed by a corporate dinner at Heritage Courts hotel and award of certificates to all participating bodies and trophies and medals for the best performing teams.
