Arua-The deputy RDC Arua Swaib Toko has cautioned the new Arua Municipal Development Forum (MDF) members against making decisions that may plunge the Municipality in to chaos.
Presiding during the handover of the out-gone MDF members to the incoming ones on Thursday, Toko said: “If the Engineer says the road must be 25 meters wide, do not go and give your own interpretation to the communities. Always seek for technical guidelines, in order to have lasting developments for the Municipality.”
Commending the previous team for job well done, the deputy RDC warned the new MDF team against making unpopular decisions but rather take those that are backed by law.
The Mayor Arua Municipality Issa Kato described the MDF as a patriotic forum that should work hard to meet the needs of the increasing population in the Municipality by sensitizing the people of development projects from the World Bank.
“MDF is tasked with the heavy load of sensitizing and educating people to appreciate and embrace development in this Municipality and so work to ensure that the attitude and cultural perceptions of the people are complimentary with planned developments,” Kato said.
