Arua-Shock gripped spectators of a foot ball match at Arua police grounds today after discovering a Somali national lying unconscious in a bushy side of the play ground.
The unidentified highly dehydrated and lifeless looking man in his 40’s was found by a passer-by at one of the corners of the pitch with a piece of ripe banana near his mouth.
According to Alema Nobert, a boda boda rider from a nearby stage, they have been seeing the man loitering around for nearly a week ago and he appeared to be a person who was taking a rest around.
Part of the northern end of the police ground is used by fruit vendors who target customers at Arua CPS and Catholic center including those who come for football on daily basis at the pitch.
One of the banana vendors identified as Christine says the Somali national in a jean trouser and a jumper, has been lying at the same spot for the last four days and those who arrive at the spot would find him there.
Police was called in and took the man who was too weak and unable to sit on his own to Arua regional referral hospital where he is admitted.
There were no signs of injuries on the unidentified man and according to some witnesses; he seems to have gone hungry for days.
