The Retired Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Uganda, Rt Rev Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyoyo who has been battling from long illness has died this morning.
Nkoyoyo, who was succeeded by Archbishop Orombi, has been battling with Cancer of Esophagus. Uganda Christian University, has confirmed the death of their first Chancellor on their twitter account. He served as Archbishop from 1995 to 2004 where he ensured the church expands by creating new dioceses and consecrating more Bishops.
While he was sick, several Ugandans and well-wishers mobilized funds to have him treated in the United Kingdom Nkoyoyo returned in June last year from London where he was admitted for treatment. Upon return, a thanks giving service was organized for him at Namirembe Cathedral.
