- Only one stolen motorcycle has been recovered
- The officers are to face disciplinary action
- It remains unclear whether the policemen slept off on their duty

MOYO-The Police in Moyo district are holding five of their officers on allegation of neglecting their duties after unknown thugs disappeared with two motorcycles parked at the station.
One of the motorcycles belong to Moyo district local government and the other was private one impounded from thieves who broke into Moyo Sacco in Obongi County branch.
The Acting Moyo district Police commander, Ignatius Dragudu, said: “The five policemen abandoned their place of at the time these motorcycles were stolen. And this his has tainted our image in the district. They have been charged with negligence of duty and will face disciplinary actions.”
The Secretary for Moyo Boda-Boda Association, Hominess Ovike said the police must take responsibility for what happened and there should be no compromise in handling their case,
“This means our police officers are not equally safe and they need a lot of security guidelines in their area because if some can go and steal motorcycles from the stations. what will happen to the ordinary citizens concerning security?” Mr Ovike asked.
The Moyo district LCV Chairman Williams Anyama, said: “The Police are to protect properties, lives, enforce laws and order but now if they cannot protect properties entrusted in their hands directly on their compound, how will they protect citizens?”
He said the police officers should be tried to act as a warning to the rest that they need to be alert always in keeping exhibits.
