Maracha- The district Council is demanding for the recruitment of a district sports officer.
Adrian Drakana the chairperson social services committee raised the concern in a recent council meeting.
“There should be recruitment of a district sports officer within the customized structures in the next financial year,” Drakana said.
Bosco Asea the area Councillor of Oluvu sub County, who doubles as the Vice Administrative Secretary for Maracha district Football Association said, “In most cases, issues of National Sports demand a Sports Officer at district level. Coordination and liaison of sports issues is a problem for sports lovers within this district.”
However, the district CAO, Martin Kisule, supported the proposal and said money will be sought for the recruitment of the sports officer in the coming financial year.
Currently issues concerning sports Maracha district are being handled by the District Education department.
