Koboko- The head teacher of Nyarilo primary school Koboko has been interdicted for alleged mismanagement of school fund.
While addressing journalist today, Mr Stasalas Magasa, the Town Clerk for Koboko Municipality says following the allegation on the head teacher an action has been taken to interdict him out of office as investigation and auditing into the files continues.
“We continued to remind the head teachers to have high level of responsibility in managing affairs and funds of the schools. They must be accountable and transparent. We also warn them against perpetual abuse of office like absconding from duties without reasonable cause.”
Meanwhile, Mr Mike Asiki, the Senior Inspector of Schools for Koboko municipality said it was unfortunate that the head teacher was interdicted because of funds mismanagement that should have been used for the good of the school.
“It is bad that these headteachers who were trained go on mismanaging school funds. The school management committees should have routine monitoring and supervision of the head teachers so that such cases do not come up again. This will enable the head teachers to have transparency in managing of the funds,” he said.
When contacted on phone, Mr Adaku, the interdicted head teacher, said: “My side of defense will depend on what the auditors have come up with. I have to wait for the results of investigations and defend myself whether it is true or false.”
