Arua. The Gigantic Defender scored the winner in a header from a free kick to win the hard-fought game at Green Light Stadium.
The Maroons FC put up a spirited fight to return to the game with zeal after equalizing through a substitute Nsubuga Bronson. The Maroons stout mid-fielder, Nsubuga scored in a low shot that beat the Onduparaka wall and the Goal keeper Nicholas Sebwato in 70th minute.
Maroons FC is owned by the Uganda Prisons Service. After Toha Rashid’s goal, the Maroons players protested the goal on arguing that one of their players was still down on ground to receive treatment. They accused the Referee for allowing the free kick when their player was down.
“But the Referee did not heed to their plea and allowed the goal to stand. The players attempted to match out of the field but the situation was cooled down.”
Onduparaka’s on-form defender Toha aka Per was awarded as Man Of the Match. Maroons missed a golden chance through their striker Samuel Walusimbi but he missed to tap in the ball.

After the final whistle, the match officials were escorted by the Field Force Unit policemen. But the Maroons players clashed among themselves in the dressing room before leaving the stadium.
Elsewhere in the Azam Uganda Premier League, KCCA pipped struggling SC Villa 4-2 to maintain the lead on the table. Bright Stars beat Premier League Debutante Ndejje University by 3-0, Kirinya Jinja S.S peeped Nyamityobora 2-1 and Tooro United beat Police FC 1-0.
