Moyo. Pilgrims from different parts of Northern Uganda have this afternoon started arriving for the Provincial Peace week in Moyo.
This year, Arua diocese is hosting the peace week, an event that is rotational in the dioceses of Gulu, Arua, Nebbi and Lira (GANAL). Earlier in the day, the Bishop of Nebbi Catholic diocese also arrived in Moyo for the event.
This year’s theme focuses on the Refugees. The leaders and the participants would discuss ways of finding solutions for the peace to return in the troubled neighboring South Sudan, how the host communities could stay in peace with the refugees, the role played by religious, political leaders in resolving the conflict among others.
The Chairman Central Organising Committee, Williams Anyama, said they expect about 5,000 participants for the event. This has also created a boost for the business especially for the hotel owners, boda-boda men, taxis and also brewers.
