Arua- The Commissioner Patriotism Club Office of the President Harriet Bananuka has ordered RDC to close Schools and Institutions that do not comply with the directive to train students in Patriotism.
The Commissioner’s new directive follows reports that some schools and institutions have ignored and abandoned their duty of training the learners in Patriotism, so that they are able to love their Country and be responsible citizens with integrity.
While passing out 413 students of Muni NTC on Thursday, Bananuka also implored leaders at various levels to adhere to the directive.
Bananuka however reminded the RDCs of what they were tasked to do while in Kyankwanzi a month ago.
“Managers should go ahead and make sure that this program is well embraced in our institutions. Some of the schools are not compliant. And you remember when you (RDC) were in Kyankwanzi, the President directed you to close those schools that are not compliant.”
The deputy RDC Arua Alice Akello urged students and teachers to embrace Patriotism, live by example and be prepared for national leadership in the near future.
Adrian Katarihawe, the Principal NTC Muni urged heads of schools and institutions to make their learners love themselves, their profession and above all their Country.
It has since become an annual event in schools and institutions with trainings undertaken by the UPDF officers and Senior NRM Cadres.
