Adjumani- In the face of the world that only exalts materialism, its unimaginable that believers of immaterial value would triumph! Amanzuru William, words apart you are a true child of light.
After his work was appreciated by a few, Amazuru is now in the limelight. His tireless and daring efforts to save Zoka Forest paid off. Amazuru won European Union Human Rights Defenders’ Award 2019.
At a moment when the children of darkness took control of our dear land, you called on the children of light of your ilk to gather, the few heeded your call, but the children of darkness did respond in the cruel of fashions to your call, steadfast you became.
Now that the world far apart from our land, acknowledged the light that you ignited, shame is not mine, shame is for the children of darkness who desperately prayed for the only candle of hope in your hand to flicker, indeed it flickered but never went off.
“You are a true son of light, a giant of the Trees in the Forest! I sit here with heavy heart full of emotions, but on the hindsight am proud of you! My heart melt with your smile of victory, my head is up!”
Well-deserved worrier of #Zoka. Amanzuru, in his fight against destruction of Zoka forest, survived death. Zoka forest has been depleted, something that the Environmentalists say is responsible for the change of weather in the area.
Both during rainy and dry seasons, the blossoming heat welcomes one from afar. Something that has been unusual in the past 20 years. The forest was intact with natural trees. But it has taken the braveness of Amanzuru to try and save the God-given gift and preserve the forest.
