- The concert will offer opportunity for the local artists to connect with the US blue grass band
- The free show will be held on March 25 at Heritage Courts
The U.S. Mission Uganda is to host Crow and the Canyon, a bluegrass band, from March 21-27.
According to Information Assistant in US Mission Uganda, Dorothy Nanyonga, the five-person band from Portland, Oregon was formed in 2014 and has a steadily growing fan base throughout the Pacific Northwest, Northern California, and Montana.
The band crew will perform a free concert at Heritage Courts in Arua town on March 25. “The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs has partnered with American Voices to engage with international audiences around the globe through the American Music Abroad Program,” she said.
The show comes at a time when the music industry in the West Nile region is growing as many artists have come out to develop their talents. Although many of them do not have adequate marketing for their music. Nanyonga said the exchanges give overseas audiences the chance to directly interact with American artists.
